Dinner party essential.

Nothing starts a dinner party like a good cocktail. The hostess with the mostest knows that a signature cocktail elevates the night, making all feel very special (not to mention being a good distraction while the roast cooks through). A tray of drinks to greet your guests truly is a dinner party essential and sets a welcoming tone for the evening ahead.

Try a drink that is pretty, simple and not something you have all the time. Like the Negroni made with equal parts Campari, gin and sweet red vermouth served over ice with an orange garnish. Double, triple, quadruple the recipe as necessary. Careful though – these go down (too) easily.

  • I LOVE starting a dinner party with a signature cocktail. We always do a whiskey-based one for St Paddy’s day, and once we did a Bellini bar before sitting down to a dinner with our friends. We’ll have to try this one for sure.
