Over the years we’ve celebrated many a joyous occasion with some bubbly – new year, new baby, new job, new home, new Saturday night. At some point we started the tradition of keeping the corks from our cheers, a libatious record of sorts noting the date and event on each fragrant stopper. We’ve accumulated quite a stash of good times and memories.
To honour these moments, we parade our corks during the holidays. They end up on the Christmas tree or as a New Year’s champagne tree on the bar as happy decorations reminding us of celebrations past and heralding those to come.
As you pop some bubbly to ring in 2015 remember to keep the cork and cage. Write on the date and start your own diary of happy times.
Wishing you all the best for a year of promise.
